Pennyfarthing follows a personalized process, and we don't utilize cookie-cutter portfolios.  Everyone has unique goals and objectives.  You deserve a portfolio that matches yours.  Our proprietary investment analysis and outlook, which is now implemented in a new way, offers the following advantages:

  • Risk-sensitive – It's a failure if you don't have what you need when you need it.  Investments go up, investments go down: that much is out of our control.  While that much might be out of our control, such volatility can be managed.  What to invest in and when to do so are firmly within our control.  We design each portfolio with an eye to the cash flows you would be counting on and plan for cash contributions into or withdrawals out of your portfolio.

  • Performance-oriented – We don't hope asset classes will perform at the same return levels they have in the past.  That's wishful thinking.   We can't afford to gamble or hope that the future will be a simple continuation of the past.  Instead, we analyze asset class valuations and forecast returns based on their time-tested tendencies to mean-revert over the near and long-terms.  What makes this process unique is that we forecast a return to normal valuation levels, which is different from relying on future performance to copy past return levels.

  • Rebalancing – Don't let markets decide your risk level.  Doing nothing without rebalancing would forfeit your ability to take advantage of market opportunities.  We continually optimize your portfolio to position it best for full returns within your goals.

  • Without Dogma – What most other advisors don't tell you is what you have to believe in order for their portfolios to work out for you.  They really should tell you that, about the stock market for example, in advance.  Up front, they embed a set of nonchanging beliefs into their investment processes.  Their practices conform to the general consensus, the status quo.  In contrast, we don't recklessly follow that crowd's wisdom.  Instead, we think critically about the evidence and our beliefs.

  • Alignment – We want to invest in alignment with the direction you want to go in.  A cookie-cutter approach might be easier for us to follow, but would it be best for you?  We manage the portfolio to meet your needs, in conversation with you.
